The Western Cape... in pictures

Instead of telling you all about my weekend, I'll let the pictures do the talking. Yes, there's more than just what's shown in the pictures -- but I'll be home in less than a week, and the rest can wait until then.

That's driving on the left side of the road for ya... sitting in the right side of the car.

^^It wasn't really a sex shop... just a restaurant/bar with a funny name in the middle of nowhere.
The views along our way were spectacular.

^^Standing on ostrich eggs... they can stand a lot of pressure from above (like 200 kg or something)

Fulfilled one of my African fantasies by riding an ostrich! Scary, but fun.

On the way...
... to the waterfall!

We took a tour of Cango Caves

It was called the adventure tour... because we got to make our way through tiny little tunnels

Beautiful sunset at Cape Agulhas...
a.k.a. the Southernmost tip of Africa, and the point where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet

It was a great trip... naturally there's always more I wish I could have done. But it was pretty great for only being 4 days.

Hey Ness,
Everything (but the tunnels in the caves, I guess I'm claustrophobic) looks so awesome! I'm glad you had a great weekend.
Have a safe trip home!
See you soon,
Juli

I was so excited to get home tonight and see new pictures! Thanks...made my day. Of course I am still missing you like crazy. I absolutely love the profile picture looking up at the falls, you know I always like the atypical pictures best, much more reflective of who you are to me. I heard that song "...looks so sad in photographs, but I absolutely love her when she smiles..." the other day and remembered how much it always seemed like the perfect song for you so serious most of the time but the rare smiles were so beautiful. It is nice with the photo thing because the smiles are more abundant this way!

Anyway, definitely rambling now...

Looks like a great trip. The boys will definitely be excited by the ostrich ride! I had no idea that was even something people did. Once again the opportunities and experiences you have had there will last a lifetime, and I am so overwhelmed with all the things you have encountered. My respect for what is Africa has definitely grown by leaps and bounds as I am sure yours has too.

I know you are getting very emotional now and I want you to try and enjoy every minute you have left and try not to waste energy being sad about leaving.

You will definitely have more readily available support here to help with those feelings later.

Just think of the years of scrapbooking projects you will have with all your incredible pictures! I can just begin to imagine how creative you will be with that.

Anyway, I love you much and miss you too. Better get going.

Love, Mom xxx ooo
